The Unlock Requirement: First, you need to put in some time progressing through your wristbands. You must unlock and obtain the Discover Japan Orange Stamp to officially trigger the barn find rumor on your world map.
The Location: Once that purple rumor circle pops up, make your way over to the Shimanoyama Region. The barn itself is tucked deep inside a heavily forested, mountainous zone—a setting that perfectly mirrors the highly technical driving layout of the car itself.
Restoration: After discovering the barn, the classic time attack veteran will be sent straight to your garage. It undergoes a lengthy restoration process before you can drive it. You can either wait it out naturally for free while you tackle other races, or drop a chunk of credits to accelerate the build and get behind the wheel immediately.

Instead, your goal should always be to lean heavily into its cornering prowess. Depending on how you want to race, the car can be optimized for three very distinct competitive classes.
1. The Dynamic "A Class" Down-Tune
By taking advantage of the game's flexible engine-swap mechanics, you can actually restrict this car's power to drop it down an entire performance class, turning it into an absolute bully in lower tiers.
The Build: Swap out the high-powered stock motor for the lower-output Rally Engine conversion. To eat up PI points and drop into A Class, equip the heaviest wheel rims available.
The Strategy: This build completely invalidates the competition on tight, technical circuit tracks. While rival builds will easily pull away from you on long straights, you will comfortably sail past them on sharp, consecutive bends without ever needing to tap the brakes.
2. The Competitive "S1 / S2 Class" Sweet Spot
This is where the car feels the most natural and competitive, allowing you to maximize its handling limits while retaining that brutal, high-revving, aggressive "pops and bangs" anti-lag sound signature.
The Build: Stick with the original 2.2L Cosworth block or swap over to the Racing V8 engine option. Make sure to bolt on fully adjustable Race Brakes and wrap the wheels in wide Slick Racing Tires to maximize your physical contact patch with the tarmac.

Tuning Tip: With this much power flowing to all four wheels, the heavy all-wheel-drive system has a tendency to pull the front end too straight under hard throttle. To fix this mid-corner understeer, loosen up your rear differential acceleration settings slightly, allowing the car to rotate more willingly around tight apexes.
